Scholarship of MSc in Plasma Physics and Web-based Plasma Physics

MSc in Plasma Physics and
Web-based Plasma Physics Courses

Applications are invited for the Master of Science (MSc) degree in Plasma Physics at Queen’s University Belfast.
The MSc course begins in 27 September 2010 and will run for 12 months.
It consists of web-based taught material, tutorials, laboratory and computer simulation work and a research project.

The courses are specifically designed for remote study and can be taken as stand-alone web-based courses or combined to gain a Master’s qualification.

Applicants must have at least a lower second class BSc honours degree from a UK or Irish University or a non-UK qualification considered by the University as equivalent, in Physics or a related subject. Applicants with other qualifications may apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Plasma Physics.

STUDENTSHIPS. The School of Mathematics and Physics is offering a limited number of studentships for students enrolling full-time on the MSc in September 2010.
The studentship may cover the cost of approved University home tuition fees (GBP 3,466)
and a stipend of GBP 3,000 per annum. The studentships will be awarded competitively on the basis of academic performance.
